I am not lost!

Hello fellow readers,

I was out and about in Florida with E for few days.  It was such a great time and I certainly caught up on some necessary shopping. YAY!!!

I promise I will share some of my new splurges soon.  I just wanted to send a quick note to let you know I am alive and I will continue to share outfits, apps, and any other cool thing I can find. :-)

Today let me share my vacation deep inner finding.... which is a new mantra for me.

 Carpe diem

A frase in latin from a Horace poem which translates to "SEIZE THE DAY"

You see... there are those folks I envy that live to the fullest and don't let the little things bother them.  I want so bad to be that way. I always get caught up in the little things and I waste TOO much energy in things that surely don't make sense.  Let this new day be the beginning to a less complicated life....

From my closet!

Hi,

Today I had an odd experience. I am almost positive a random guy took my photo.  Sooo weird out!
I was sitting quietly playing Candy Crush (of course who is not addicted!) and I felt the intent look.  I glanced up and his phone camera just happens to be aiming at me. He acted quickly to move his phone which made me think he took my photo.  :(  Well if you see me somewhere I should not be PLEASE let me know.

Today I am wearing a repeat!! (click here to see how I wore this dress before)

From my closet!

It's a long work day today!

Hi -

I hope everyone is doing well today.  It's Tuesday and it looks like quite a busy day for me today.  In which case, I wanted to be super comfy and yet look the part.  You know what they say "dress for the job you want not the job you have".  After seeing these pictures I pulled my hair up into a bun.  Guess the humidity is back!  LOL - which I love 'cause I am not ready for Summer to be over. :-)

When I have long days ahead I usually try wearing something that makes you feel good yet comfortable.  For me that means nothing too clingy or tight.  Since I work in an office, I don't walk too much. But I do try to wear shoes I can stand on them all day.  Thank for wedges! I love flats but heels always make an outfit more elegant and when you want to look the part, flats don't fit the bill. That's my humble opinion.

What's your go to outfit for busy work days? Please let me know.

From my closet!

Happy Friday!!!

It's sunny here in Philly and while a little chilly for me, I am happy that Friday is here.  Yay!!!

Today I am wearing a repeat shirt.  I wore this shirt for date night with E. (here).
Because the back is a bit too revealing for work, I am wearing a cardigan.  Honestly, cardigans are any outfits lifesaver.  :-)

Top: Banana Republic
Jeans: American Eagle
Shoes: DSW (brand MRKT)
Cardigan: Gap Outlet

Have an awesome day!!!

Aww remembering the warm weather!

Hi,

Today feels like fall in Philly.  I am absolutely NOT happy about it.  Summer is by far one of my favorite seasons and when the calendar still says August - I am in no mood to wear jackets or sweaters.   :)

I wanted to share one of the outfits I wore in sunny-very-warm Houston.  Boy I really miss it today!
This is a simple yet classy way of wearing shorts for dinner and a movie.

Happy Thursday and because I love Fridays so much to me Thursdays are "little Fridays"

YUM! Easy recipe

Hi,

I have not forgotten about blogging.  It has been hectic - to say the least - couple of days.  I wanted to share an extremely easy recipe I sort of put together with the help of the Internet.

I had it on my head that I wanted to make a Tuna Tartar.  Basically, we had it at a restaurant and I felt strongly that this must be something I needed to try.  I started by searching online for recipes.  Well, there are more than a handful out there.  Some do include wasabi which I am not a fan. I wanted something simple.  So I kind of made my own version.

Ingredients:

- fresh tuna
- lemon juice [I think I actually used lime juice]
- soy sauce
- chives
- sesame seeds
- a pinch of salt
- half of an avocado

Directions:

1. Cut the tuna in small pieces
2.  Add a little of lemon/lime juice, soy sauce,  handful of  small cut chives, sesame seeds and mix together.

I did not measure. I just added making sure I was not over saturating the tuna and all the pieces were getting covered in the ingredients.
Then, I used half and avocado and cut it into small pieces.

Then, using a ramekin filled the mold with the tartar.  Leaving a little room on the top and then added the avocado.   Flipped the mold onto a place and it looked like this...

WHOA-LA! I added a toast cut in four and of course some white wine to accompany this meal.

Try it and let me know how it turns out!!

Repeats!

Happy Friday! Absolutely my favorite day a week. :-)

Today I am repeating an outfit I've worn before back in May (click here to see post) When repeating outfits try to change things up.  This time I am wearing darker jeans and wedge sandals.  I am a big fan of changing this up if not most likely my closet would be twice it's size.  I will make sure in the future to call out more of my repeats... and if you have read my blog you will notice there is another repeat outfit.... :-) Did you notice? Please write if you did.

Jeans: GAP
Shoes: Banana Republic (oldy but goody)
Shirt: Mango (store link here) Another one of my favorite European stores.

Quote of the day!

Hi,

I am working very hard to focus internally and exercise my spirituality.  I've heard many times that it all comes from within. While this may sounds extremely deep I see it very simple, if you're happy inside it beams to the outside.  And, while that is easier said than done I do try to find inner peace and find those happy thoughts when I am on a down hill.

Buddha said it very simple...

The way is not in the sky. The way is in the heart.
Buddha

And on that note let's enjoy Thursday ... which I call "Little Friday!"

Travel outfit!

Hi,

I wanted to share the outfit I used when I traveled back home from Houston to Philly.  I am a fan of being comfortable but not that I will wear sweatpants.  I still like to look nice.  Specially if you have someone picking you up. :-)

My travel (in-transit) outfits include:
  • No sandals -- unless I sneak in socks for the plane and the shoes HAVE to be comfy
  • Longer pants or skirts -- I am always freezing on the plane
  • A sweater or pashmina at hand -- I think you get the COLD issue
  • Big Bag -- most of the time I try to travel with just a carry-on (like this trip) in which case a large bag is a must to add whatever did not fit on the carry-on

From my Closet!

Out in the town of  Houston, TX!

Hi,

I wanted to share an outfit I wore on one of the nights during my visit in Houston.  We went out to dinner with some friends.  I tried a very simple approach to this outfit.  Simple, appropriate and trendy.

Shirt: Loft
Jeans: American Eagle
Shoes: Steve Madden

I love this top! It's very comfortable and it's faltering too.  What I like most about it is that it can be dressed up or down.

For the jeans, I was looking high and low for a distressed look.  I went to AE and fell in love with these.  However, they are supposed to be the super skinny jeans.  I was not quite looking for that super skinny look in a distress jean. So, I went a size up.  And... it worked 'cause I got exactly the look I was looking for. My advice to you is never be afraid to go a size up, that does not mean you've gain weight.  Specially in this new type of skinny jeans that sometimes they are so tight that they look more like leggings than a jean.  And, you got to remember that stores like AE are actually junior stores too.

From my closet!

Hi,

Today I am writing from Houston, TX.  I am visiting my other sister for a long weekend. It's hot and humid but there are no clouds in the sky - a gorgeous day!  We grabbed lunch at a local place near by called Zoe's Kitchen. YUM!!!

I went casual with a great find at Target.
