Printed leggings

Hi,

My sister lives in Spain.  Today, she sends me the picture below showcasing her latest purchase of leggings.

I have to admit I was a bit envious.  She bought these goodies at Bershka for an amazing price.  Sadly this store has not made its way to the US.  However, I was challenged to find similar leggings.  The hunt started online, and I think I found some great alternatives.

The finds:

I purposely looked at stores where I knew that the price tag was going to fit my budget.  Usually that means going to the junior type stores.  I use legging more towards fall/winter.  But when you have a little bit of a short dress a legging with a nice pair of heels can make the outfit during the warmer months.

I am not going to get all of the favorites I've listed above, but I can't seem to decide which ones to get.  Any recommendations?  Please let me know.

From My closet!

Hi,

Its Saturday, one of my favorite days of the week.  We have friends visiting us and today they wanted to run some errands. It was hot so I wore something comfy.

Ha! my gym back is sneaking which probably means I need to hit the gym soon.  Swear it was not on purpose.  But I do believe in destiny and synchronicity so it must be a sign.

Well describing my outfit.

Jean: Old Navy <with some changes>
Shirt: Joe Fresh
Necklace: ? Can't remember (sorry)
Shoes: my trip present from Barcelona

So back to the jeans, these jeans were a tab to big on me.  I decided to make them look like the boyfriend look by using a cheese grinder to open the wholes and trimming the hem and because it looked weird I simply rolled them up. And whoa la!

From my closet!

Hello,

It is almost the end of the day and specially today felt like a "I don't care" kind of day.  I had to take off Thursday as something did not settle well in my stomach.  I am better now but I had literally no interest making it to work.  I am sure you know what I mean.

Given that my office allows casual dress attire - pretty much every day, I took out the comfiest jeans, comfy tshirt and to make it look polish grabed a jacket - it was actually quiet chilly this morning.  I debated on the shoes.  I wanted to wear my converse but figured its an office environment and I should try at least a little. So, took out some nice sandals.

Finding the right concentration spot!

Hello,

Today I wanted to share a site. Coffitivity!

I work on a very corporate environment.  My desk is part of a large array of cubes.  Like everything there are pro's and con's to where my cube is.  One of the biggest con's is the noise.  Sadly, I can't simply close my door to let my co-workers know that I really need to get something done.  So, I have tried putting my headphones and listening to either Pandora/Songza.  However, I do find myself wondering off, singing ... but sometimes it does work.  I will admit that.

Yesterday, a co-worker mentioned this site call "Coffitivity".  Basically, you open their online page and you hear the background of a coffee shop.  I was pretty much saying to myself why would I want to listen to coffee shop background?  Well, I was extremely surprise to hear that noise of a coffee shop (not so loud, not so quite) actually does help boost creativity and concentration.

Don't believe me... here is the full report that talks about the research (here)

Once I started listing I just imaged I was at a very cool coffee shop in Paris - why not? A bit corny but it took me off work while I was working. HA!

Check it out... and please do write back and let me know what you think.

From my closet!

Hello Tuesday!

Today I am wearing one of those great sale finds that you can only find in-stores.

I love shopping online and I am still able to get some great deals.  However, passing by some stores (or at least your favorite ones) does pay off.  Not sure how it works but sometimes the stores would add more products or colors of a selected style on sale to make room for new products.

I don't do this often but luckily for me Target, DSW, Old Navy, Gap and local food store are part of the same strip mall.  For all those local to Conshohocken area I am talking about the Metroplex.
With that said, it is quite convenient to browse Gap if I see a massive sale sign out on display.

The find -- the slim crop pants!

Pants: Gap
Shirt: The Limited (one the sale rack)
Belt: Gap (old)

From my closet!

It is Summer and white dresses are a must. Right?  Well, I got one about two years ago from one of my favorite stores: Zara.

This store is a European chain that slowly has conquer many location worldwide.  I love the European style and not only do I find the looks unique and chic but the fit works well for me.

Here it goes!!!

I kept it very simple today. I pretty much let the dress be the feature.  I paired it with my $9 splurge at Old Navy shoes. Please note that is was cheaper at the store than online.  Sometimes it does pay to go to the store.

Dress:  Zara
Shoes:  Old Navy

How do you wear white dresses?

From my closet!

Date night!!!! Last night E calls me and says he wants to take me out to dinner.  We both have had busy weeks and that was a perfect way to spend a Friday night.

Wine, food and chatting.  It was awesome. :-)

I wanted to wear something flirty but yet casual.  It was 8pm and it was still over 90F.  In which case I went with an oldy but goody top from BR, jeans, and flirty shoes.

I would have love to have a perfectly blown out hair, but it was way too hot for that. In which case, I did a simple bun in order to make sure I could show the back of my shirt.

Shoes: Steve Madden
Top: Banana Republic
Jeans: American Eagle
Bag: Carolina Herrera

Have was your Friday night?

From my closet!

Happy Friday! I have not forgotten to post it has just been a little hectic.  But, I am back!

We are still in the middle of a heat wave.  It is a challenge deciding what to wear in a cool office with 100F temperatures outside.  The trick is in "the cardigan".  I have probably way too many, but they are good at any season.

Dress: Forever21
Undershirt: Victoria Secret - half cami
Cardigan: Gap outlet
Shoes: Michael Kors (although you can't really see my shoes with this dress)
Necklaces: present from E. & street vendor in NYC

Stay cool and thanks for reading!

It's all about the sales!

TGIF!!! Even though it is rainy and Flood Watches are in affect... it is FRIDAY!
Pad yourself on the back as a long week just went by. :-)

Today, I got great email sales notices.  I figure I would share along with you.  I am over my spending budget already (I actually sneaked in a Victoria Secret purchase, promise I will share what I got) so I can't take advantage. :-(    But hopefully you can!

As much as I hate SPAM mail getting email sales notices does pay off. So lets start with:

JCREW (Sale section)

They have been having some great sales all summer long.  Today it's all about summer layers.  It's a pretty good sale.

Banana Republic (link)

If you're dying to catch one of their new arrivals take advantage of this offer.  When it comes to GAP products, and you can tell from my closet that I buy lots from them, I never buy full price.  They always have a sale going, so it's worth the wait.   This offer is ideal if  you want to be ahead of the game for new hot items and NOT pay full price.

The Limited (Sale section)

I think I mentioned on another post that The Limited has capture my attention lately.  You can tell from the numerous purchases I've done this year.  But this sale is AMAZING.  It is absolutely worth taking a peak.

Well, that wraps up the top sales coming from my email to you.

Happy Shopping and please do share if you took advantage of any of these.

Morning Smoothie

Good Morning,

It is an awful rainy day here in Philly.  It is also hot and humid. Lovely combination! But we need to keep our spirits up the weekend is just around the corner.

I think I mentioned that I am trying really hard to be healthier.  I admit that quinoa and brown rice are not my favorite or maybe I don't know how to cook them.  To me they taste bitter and have no flavor.  Maybe is one of those foods you got to eat a lot to like them, eventually.

Anyway,  this morning I wanted to try a very simple smoothie:

berries + kale + coconut water smoothie. Yum!

I added to taste each ingredient and went to town.

I don't have any fancy juicer or blender I just used My Magic Bullet.  I am sure this will come out equally yummy using a regular blender.

To top it off I added ice. And blended it even more.

Enjoy!!!

Do you have any good smoothie recipes?

From my closet!

Hi,

It’s another hot one here in Philly.  Yet, you come to work and you better be prepare to have a cardigan as the AC is going at full speed.  I do have a heater at my desk and I admit to use it quite often during the summer months.  After work I am hitting a happy hour at Public House. I hope this outfit takes me from day to early evening.

Dress: BDBG
Shoes: Zappos.com
Cardigan: Gap
Ring: Banana Republic

For me sometimes is all about the accessories.  I love to play with necklaces, bracelets, rings…. Do you have any favorites?

If you like necklaces check out ILY an online boutique store.  I also follow her blog too.  She is very trendy.

Music App.

Hello,

I recently came across a new music app.  I was a little skeptical as I am a loyal Pandora fan (still am!) Yet, this app is quite a contender.  Their concept is quiet unique, not only you can search "stations" by artist or gender but you can actually search music by activities, moods or decades. How cool is that!

The app is called Songza they describe themselves as a music concierge. Which makes total sense.

It's Monday evening ... and I got a screen like this one:

You pick an activity and then it gives you station options that match you request.  I am still getting used to it but so far I am hooked.  I am still learning the app as I go but it's very simple to use.

In my opinion this app is a keeper but will stick to Pandora when I know exactly what I want to hear.

Try it and let me know what you think.

From my closet!

Happy Monday!

I got back last night from a 4-day beach trip.  Boy did I need to hear the ocean, lay on a chair and let the sun do its magic.  How was your weekend?

Today, is back to reality.  I am obviously having a hard time adjusting from five days off.  But, if I have to be here better do it with a little style.  Right? :-)

From my closet!

Happy Wednesday!!

I am off tomorrow and with any luck I can take Friday off as well.  I had the hardest time picking my outfit today.  I had in mind striped bermudas with a tank and a blazer.  Well, my body was in one of its moods as no tee looked good.  This was probably outfit number #4.  What do you think?

T-shirt: Gap (an oldy)
Skirt: Joe Fresh
Shoes: American Eagle
Bubble Necklace: online boutique (similar here)

I am off to the Jersey Shore today.  Drive safe or safe travels if you are off to enjoy the holiday tomorrow.
